    An Impressive World Created with Metal "KOKUHAN"

    About "KOKUHAN"

    Scenes engraved on metal plates appear are expressed with three-dimensional light.
    KOKUHAN,which is neither a painting nor a photograph,
    projects a presence that makes the viewer feel as though they are right there.
    KOKUHAN is not a reminder of long past memories,
    but instead the creator of new experiences.

    "KOKUHAN" Art Panel

    The surface of the metal panel is scraped to reproduce the image.
    The highlight moves in conjunction with the reflection of light depending on the viewing angle,
    so The motif image appears three-dimensionally like a hologram.

    "KOKUHAN" Design Panel

    The lines drawn in Illustrator are cut using a CNC machine tool while changing the width and depth of the lines.
    Patterns reminiscent of traditional patterns and arabesques are displayed on metal panels.
    Even familiar patterns can feel fresh due to the metallic luster effect.
    In addition, the unique designs created by this processing method leave a strong impression.

    About Us

    We at Kawanami Ironworks Inc. have been involved in metal cutting of large machine parts for many years.
    My main job is CNC, and I applied the technology to acquire 3D processing technology.
    Based on this technology, our company has developed, manufactures and sells the design panel for building materials "Kokuhan®" (patented in Japan and the US).
    We have also actively exhibited at exhibitions such as "Maison ＆ Objet", "WAF AWARDS", and "Surface Design Show".
    We are developing new expression methods based on the theme of "visible emotion."
